		<description><![CDATA[I think there are two ways to practice any sport - the funky, dressed-up way, and the serious way. I&#039;m no yoga practitioner (I came to this blog from the &quot;eco&quot; end of things) but as an ex elite sportswoman (rowing), it didn&#039;t take me long to learn there was functional stuff and the funky, expensive stuff you don&#039;t need. So we&#039;d see heaps of wannabees, all decked out in the latest, who weren&#039;t really serious about the sport (we&#039;d laugh at them, actually), but you could tell the serious sportswomen by their muscle tone and old, bashed up equipment that had seen real, heavy-duty usage. Same goes for yoga, I&#039;d guess. On an interesting point, isn&#039;t yoga meant to be thousands of years old? Did they even HAVE rubber mats back then? So is even this *basic* accessory really necessary? Or maybe you could use tatami instead. Just a thought, from someone who knows nothing about yoga, but a fair bit about consumerist wannabees ;-)]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[consciously listen to your own breathing, if it helps to start with intentionally breath louder than usual, inhale deep through your nose, and blow out of your mouth not fast just hard and the really difficult bit, look at the blackness on the inside of your eye lid, sounds odd, and is extremely difficult especially if you have a vivid imagination like me but with practice it works, don&#039;t let any images enter your head, totally clear everything from your mind, when you are thinking about nothing, no mental images or thoughts, and the only thing you can hear is your breathing your pretty much there, do that for a while if you can maintain it you enter what i can only describe as a at peace state this is how i meditate and i have kind of developed this method myself (it may have been done before) im sure there will be other methods out there. hope this helps]]></description>

If they just kept on meditating and stopped worrying then all would be fine. ]]></description>

But in classes they may require a yoga mat so you do not leave dermis on their flouring and you do not pick up some one else&#039;s dermis on you. At home a bed is as good as any other mat. Or a beach towel on a carpeted and padded flour.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Looks like you have most of your bases covered for your yoga class.  Remember that yoga is normaly done barefoot, so shoes probably won&#039;t be necessary.  I would recommend bringing lots of water as well.  You can get quite dehydrated, so make sure you drink plenty of water beforehand and take a water bottle with you.  You might also want to take a hand towel, or a full size towel to put on top of your mat, in case you get sweaty.  It also provides a sanitary layer between you and the borrowed yoga mat. Have fun in your first yoga class!!]]></description>

Yoga is a Sanskrit word coming from the root  yuj  and relates to both the processes or practices referred to as Yoga and also the goal itself, which is also called Yoga. As the goal, the word Yoga is virtually one and the same with the word Samadhi, the deep, transcendent realization of the highest truth or reality. The typical public perception of Yoga has shifted significantly in recent years. To the ancients, Yoga is a complete system, of which the postures are a small, though quite useful part. The word  Yoga  referred to the whole, not merely one part, which is the postures, or Asanas. The entire purpose of Yoga is spiritual in nature, according to the ancient sages. In modern times, the relative position of the postures has been elevated, so as to lead people to believe that the word  Yoga  refers to physical postures or Asanas, and that the goal of these is physical fitness. The whole and the part have been reversed, terribly misleading and confusing people about the true nature of authentic Yoga. To be a miner of diamonds, take care of your picks and shovels.
